About The Sarod Family
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful"

Explore your family history here!

Our family tree story starts with Bhusa Bhatt who was of Madiya origin and a Nagar Brahmin
native of Morbi. In 1479 C.E. (sawant year 1535) Mahmud Begada conquered Junagadh and brought
along his oracle (peer) Shah Server Sultan who then went on to convert the whole of Junagadh.
Amongst the population, the diwan (prime minister of Junagadh) Bhusa Bhatt embraced Islam as
well. In the journey of conquering more lands, the diwan and Shah server sultan were one of the
many that travelled as troops. However, they stopped along the way which later became known as
Sarod, after they established it as their home. Once they began to reside there, the sons
continued to proper the town.

Sharifa Patel (Daughter of Ahmed Patel [Civil Engineer]) inspired by above quote dreamed of
gifting our new generation the treasure of our ancestors historical data. She worked hard over
years to discover our ancestors stories and collect data. Her special thanks to below
individuals or group of people for helping her in getting so far:

Hasan Vali Peeru (Master) - helped collecting data
Aiyub Bapana - helped with his architect skills
School Masters of High School in Sarod (Year 2000 - 2001) - worked hard with drawing of the
charts on the oversized papers
Ilyas Hasan Karbhari (BE Civil) - provided stationary
Yaqoob Ismail Sarodi (London) - translated Gujarati names to English

Nafisa Patel - helped to build the first digital copy
Sobia Lodhi Kamraan - did all data entry into the Family Tree Maker software
Shahedah Patel - published to the internet
